Our story began almost a century ago.
It was a time when Tonino Spapperi, young and determined, together with his wife Rosa, opened the doors of a small butcher’s shop overlooking the most beautiful square in the city: Piazza Gabriotti.
An old photograph from the early 1930s captures them standing in front of that very same entrance that still exists today: Tonino, Rosa, their little daughter Maddalena, an employee, and two friends. A simple image, yet one that already tells everything — work, family, and community.
The shop endured hard years, survived the war, and slowly rose again.
In the 1950s, a young nephew, Bruno Giulietti, joined as an apprentice. With passion and dedication, he learned the craft day by day, until it became his own. After Tonino’s untimely passing, Bruno took over the shop together with his aunt Rosa, later becoming its sole owner.
By his side was his wife Anna Buoncompagni, a quiet but essential presence. Together, they watched the business grow, along with the prosperity that finally reached the city: meat became accessible to everyone.
In the 1970s, at just seventeen years of age, another nephew, Luigi Giulietti, joined his uncle Bruno in the shop and opened a small poultry business. When Bruno decided to retire, Luigi carried the legacy forward. This marked the third generation of butchers — a story that has always been passed from uncle to nephew. In 1981, Luigi’s brother Giovannialso joined the business.
Since then, the Giulietti brothers have carried on this heritage together, preserving family recipes, time-honored gestures, and a deep respect for craftsmanship.
What was once a modest shop is now a modern, refined store, at the forefront of salumi and delicatessen production, while remaining true to its roots. Every morning, with the help of loyal and passionate collaborators, those same doors still open.
Here, the aromas, flavors, and gestures of the past are still alive.
Here, a story continues — one that belongs to the city itself.
You are welcome.
